Frequently asked questions
The common questions about Texas studios, the incentive, and what this site does.
What is ATX Lot?
ATX Lot is an independent guide to the physical production side of Texas film and TV — the studios and soundstages, the crews and vendors, and the state’s production incentive. It keeps a working directory of the major studio campuses across Texas. Part of the WholeTech Network.
How is this different from a TV or film guide?
Where a TV or film site covers what Texas puts on screen, ATX Lot covers where it gets made: the stages, the lots, the crews and the money. For the on-screen side, see our sister site TV ATX.
What is the Texas production incentive?
The Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program (TMIIIP) is a state grant on qualified in-state spending. The expanded program commits about $1.5 billion over ten years, with rebates up to roughly 31% that rise with budget size, Texas hires and in-state days, and can stack with local programs toward about 45%. See the incentive page — and verify current terms with the Texas Film Commission before budgeting.
Does ATX Lot rank or score the studios?
No. We describe each studio in our own words from public records. We don’t score them, place them in any order, or reproduce another publisher’s awards lists or compilations. When a figure comes from a source, we link it on the sources page.
Who runs atxlot.com?
atxlot.com is published by the WholeTech Network, an independent Austin, Texas publisher building websites since 1996.
Is atxlot.com free to use?
Yes. All content is free and accessible — no paywalls, no mandatory signups, no pop-ups.
